However, there is more than one type of banqueting chair so here are a few factors to consider.

The Frame

Banqueting chairs are available with either a wooden or metal frame, and both look and function beautifully. However, depending on the look you want to achieve, you might have a preference for one.

Wooden banqueting chairs tend to look more traditional so would fit a similar wedding theme very well. By contrast metal banqueting chairs can appear more contemporary, fitting in with a modern colour and style.

The weight of the chair will be another consideration, and much will depend on whether you anticipate the chairs being moved around. Aluminium frames are the lightest, offering strength but very little weight while at the opposite end of the spectrum, steel-framed banqueting chairs are heavy. Size

Look at the colour of the chair frame, and if it’s made from wood, the type of wood it’s made from. There’s nothing worse with a pastel colour scheme than having dark wood chair frames! To make sure you preserve your visual effect, look for chairs that have colour pads and frames that complement your theme.

If you want to dress the back of the chairs, double-check the dimensions. Some banqueting chairs can have very wide backs which is great for comfort but a nightmare to decorate if you’re not expecting it.
